Sandra attended the national HSLDA conference for Christian leaders in the home school community. Representatives from all 50 states as well as a number of other countries came together for four days of information and inspiration. God provides meaningful fellowship amidst the valuable presentations and workshops.
The major benefit to Lifework Forum was the informal workshop arranged by Mike Donnelly, Director of International Relations. International guests brought first-hand reports from Mexico, Great Britain, Sweden, and Germany; and Sandra shared the recent outreaches of Lifework. All the presenters met with Mike afterward to discuss the next steps for the development of the international vision for home education. It was a rich time of deepening relationships and encouraging participation.
A personal blessing was the talk given by Jessica Hulcy at the Ladies Tea. Jessica was scheduled to speak in 2009, but she was hindered due to a tragic collision with a fire truck. Throughout the year Sandra was able to keep her prayers for Jessica current through the CareNet page updated regularly by the Hulcy family. She as well as all the ladies who attended the tea were filled with anticipation to hear about the miraculous recovery of a dedicated sister. Jessica approached the podium and began to share by stating boldly for all to hear, “I serve a Sovereign God!”
