We have been looking at Old Testament passages that foretell elements about God’s appointed Conqueror over sin and death. Some foreshadowings are a bit vague. Nevertheless, they provide information about His role and the result of its completion.
“Jesus said to them ‘I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’” John 6:32,33
Jesus affirms the validity of the Old Testament record as He refers to Exodus 16. He compares Himself to the manna that was poured out from heaven on the starving Israelite refugees wandering in the Desert of Sin.
