BHC – Blessed Home Conferences
The Lord richly blessed the BHC’11 event which ended up taking place in two locations; London, England and Bucharest, Romania. The Lovelaces were delighted that everyone who attended was a new introduction to the work of Lifework Forum. They wonder if God intends for them to meet all of those under the covenant He made with Abraham. Genesis 22:17
We are excited about the possibilities for BHC’12 as we look forward to the date and destination the Father has already arranged. There’s a lot of BHC information below and it’s updated on a rolling basis. We encourage you to take the time to read through it all and to check back from time to time to keep track of developments.
Overview
There are two components to BHC:
1. reaching out to the families who attend, and
2. providing an opportunity for service to those who would like to be part of the BHC Team.
We hope you will find the following information helpful and that you will seek the Lord for the participation level He might have for you. Please do join us in prayer for the upcoming version of this annual event.
Lifework Forum’s international work includes reaching out to national and expatriate (expat) audiences on topics including: education, recovery from addictions, family life, men’s and women’s roles, and biblical truth. The Lovelaces bring information, encouragement and support in the form of presentations, workshops, evaluations and consultations as well as through fellowship in casual settings. Another aspect of their ministry is carrying printed and audio materials, food and other items to the families they serve. Their intent is to continue this style of outreach to the families wherever the Lord sends them.
Attendees
The BHC conference is open to any individual or family that is interested in seeking to know, obey, and enjoy the triune God of Scripture as they consider the meaning and purpose of their lives. Biblical principles are offered with boldness and Christ-centered relationships are fostered with candor and warmth.
Dates/Location
Due to the Lovelaces move to Europe, BHC’12 has yet to be scheduled, perhaps in the fall. The Lovelaces are seeking the Lord for His will on this important point and welcome invitations to host the event. Contact them to express your interest as you feel led. The location and all pertinent information will be posted as soon as it’s available. If you, your family, group of friends, or church would be interested in supporting, serving or attending this event, contact the Lovelaces for that too.
Topics/Schedule
Lifework Forum is willing to consider presenting on a variety of subjects or developing one topic in depth during the BHC. Christian living, family life, and homeschooling have been covered in the past. Other areas can be found at Topics.
Curt and Sandra are dedicated to providing a schedule that will fit family life with a minimum of disruption. While the Lovelaces are willing to consider any specific needs and desires, the following is a sample of what has been arranged in the past.
Thursday evening
The Lovelaces introduce themselves to those who will be joining the conference in a casual setting. This gathering is an opportunity for those who plan to attend to begin settling into the event, and for those considering attendance to be encouraged to make a positive decision.
Friday evening
Curt and Sandra open the actual event with a biblical overview of the BHC theme. This introduction is intended to draw everyone together under God’s Word as well as set the tone and focus of the more formal sessions.
Saturday
The Lovelaces offer topical presentations and related workshops according to an arranged timetable. The goal is to end early enough to allow families to prepare for worship the following day.
Attendees usually lunch with Curt and Sandra to incorporate fellowship into the middle of the day.
The Lovelaces often make themselves available for several days following the conference for personal appointments, other gatherings, and/or speaking and fellowship opportunities. Attendees can feel free to contact them directly for any such requests.
Fees
The cost of the conference is set in consultation with the local contacts and is kept to a minimum. Donations are gratefully received before, throughout, and at the close of the event. The main goal is to offset the Lovelaces’ expenses.
Other
The Lovelaces enjoy delivering goodies. Registered attendees are invited to contact them directly with specific requests for educational materials and/or household items. Curt and Sandra do their best to meet any reasonable request.
Servants/Team
Lifework Forum realizes that in building a team to undertake the work of BHC preparation complications are increased. However, the Lovelaces recognize that blessings to those who attend and those who serve are also increased. They’ve chosen to trust the Lord for His provision in this aspect of the outreach.
Each Team member will be financially responsible for the cost of their airfare as well as their own personal expenses prior to and during the journey. Personal expenses might include passport and immunization fees along with incidentals and souvenirs. Lifework Forum plans to cover all housing and food expenses. Team responsibilities and activities will include whatever needs to be done: toting, cleaning, organizing, caring for children, etc. A measure of sightseeing will be thrown in as time and energy allow.
If you are interested in joining the BHC’12 Team, please review the Application and Release forms and the Orientation information. The Lovelaces will carefully and prayerfully consider all completed Team Application Forms.
