Unpacking the Truths of Scripture
2 Timothy 4:1-5 lists the responsibilities of a preacher:
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
Rev. Dr. Lovelace has been preaching the Word since 1980, in season and out of season. He has opened the word to groups small and large in a variety of settings on four continents. His expository style, heart-felt delivery, and practical applications make his messages sought after jewels. In his home pulpit Curt takes his congregation through a book at a time, alternating between the Old and New Testaments. This process allows for the preaching of the full counsel of God and forestalls any tendency to avoid topics that may be more difficult than others. Consequently the body at Covenant Baptist Church in Acton, Maine is growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
If you would like to hear one of Curt's messages, go to sermon audio and choose from the topics listed. Our prayer is that God Himself will make His Word plain and carry you forward on your process of transformation into the likeness of His Son. 2 Corinthians 3:18
